Most children, whether they are still babies or a bit older, love to play in the water, whether it’s learning to swim or just splashing around. And since knowing how to swim is something important that can even save your life, why not register your child for baby swimmers, i.e. swimming lessons for toddlers, as soon as possible? And if your child is not ready yet, you can prepare him for such lessons by letting him play in the water regularly.

Some coach may tell you that you can register your child for baby swimmers, in the presence of one or more parents, from the age of 4 months. However, every child is different and there is no need to worry if your baby does not feel ready yet.
Knowing how to swim is very important, because you never know when it could save their life. You might not know it, but some studies have shown that the risk of drowning in babies and toddlers aged 1-4 years is lower in baby swimmers.
Young babies and toddlers will likely be more comfortable in classes that focus on swim preparation. Parents often participate in these lessons and learn how to watch their child safely in the water.
The best thing you can do for a baby or young child in or near water is to stay alert at all times.
A child who is learning to swim should ideally wear a suit at their waist. Her swimsuit should be tight enough around the legs to prevent poo from accidentally ending up in the pool.
